I was going to file this under Best Video Ever, but I decided that Tucker deserves his own spot on the TAT list. The YouTube description of this video says: “Tucker, our one and a half year old Schnoodle, plays the piano and sings along at least 3 or 4 times every day. In spite of all of his practicing, he really isn’t getting any better at it.” but I have to disagree. I have a BA in music and this dog is better than me at both singing and playing the piano.

TUCKER FTW! I’m tempted to end this entire site right here because let’s face it: it doesn’t get much more totally awesome than that.

Don’t smile. I dare you.

#6: 109 Cats in Sweaters

Posted: January 3, 2011 in Sheer Adorableness

Happy New Year kids! Again I must apologize for my extended hiatus, but I assure you I am now BACK WITH A VENGEANCE!! Before we get into today’s awesomeness, some business: Starting this week I’m going to be introducing two new weekly features. Totally awesome, right? One of them will happen on [insert the first name of the most totally awesome member of the Addams family here], and the other one will come out on [insert the first word in the first track off the first album released by The Velvet Underground here]. Or, if you don’t like puzzles, just keep checkin’ back this week…

Now for the REALLY important stuff, today’s totally awesome thing! This particular thing is even more awesome than this cat wearing a sweater:

What, you ask, could possibly be more awesome than a cat in a sweater? Um, only 109 CATS IN SWEATERS!

Yes, some genius over at buzzfeed has compiled a list of 109 photos of cats in sweaters, and I promise you, it is TOTALLY AWESOME. Not only that, it is a surefire cure for the dreary cold of Midwestern winter. Don’t believe me? Scientific studies have proven that the mere site of small, felines creatures forced into tight handmade sweaters then placed in outrageously kitschy poses will instantly warm the heart of the average person by several degrees. No seriously you guys, it’s been proven. By science. I promise. Still don’t believe me? Take THAT:

and THAT:

and THAT:

and then click here to see the rest!

#3: ZooBorns

Okay, I have to make this relatively short because my posse has assigned me the formidable task of reading all 7 Harry Potter books before we go see the latest movie. Luckily, this is one of those cases where pictures speak louder than words. Behold:

Loud enough for ya? If you don’t think that’s completely frackin adorable, get the hell out of my house because today, dear friends, we’re talking about; the totally awesome brainchild of artist/photographer Chris Eastland and self-proclaimed “lifelong animal nerd” Andrew Bleiman. The two created the site in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation efforts by showcasing newborn baby zoo animals from all over the world. Now, there are a lot of places on the internet to find cute baby animals, but this one is special because the little educational blurbs and undertones of social activism make it interesting. It entertains the aww reflex while speaking to the inner nerd. Also, funny-looking animals are SO much more awesome than normal-looking animals!

I submit as evidence this baby marmoset:

and this baby baboon:

and this baby otter:

The website gives you the option of looking through the animals chronologically, by zoo or by species. I recommend going through the species alphabetically. I’m not even halfway through yet – you can’t go through too many too fast or you’ll overload on cuteness – but so far I have to give highest cuteness marks to the leopard kittens:

followed closely by my new favorite animal, the fennec fox:

In addition to the website, Chris and Andrew have also published two ZooBorns books, a portion of the profits of which go to support the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, or AZA. And hey, the holidays are right around the corner…

SO, in conclusion, ZooBorns = TOTALLY AWESOME.
