Things that are Totally Awesome

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the cybernet!

I started writing this herr bliggidy blog while living in a cold, dark place known as Post-college-funk-opolis –  fighting the good liberal arts grad fight for meaningful employment (“Previous coffeeshop experience? Yeah erm, not exactly, but see, I’ve got this here bachelor degree in ethnomusicology, so uh, pretty much the samesies?”) whilst drinking $3 wine out of the bottle in my parents’ basement. The initial concept for this thing was simple; I was going to hunt down those things – music, movies, YouTube videos, and what have you – that were totally awesome, and write about them. It was a thinly veiled attempt to entertain myself by entertaining all three of my friends that would read it.

Entertaining it was, and is, but then something else happened – the more I wrote about these totally awesome things that I love, the more empowered I felt to LOVE things. It’s the most natural thing in the world, love, and still it takes a lot of courage to stand behind it. If I had a penny for every time someone gave me crap for LOVING something – something silly, something ridiculous, something insignificant – well hell, I’d have a shitload of pennies!

So I encourage you to come in, enter the loviest place of my heart and let me introduce you to some of the totally awesome things I love. Then when you’re done, go on out and tell some people about the totally awesome things you love!

Trust me: Awesome is the new black.
